Michele LeMars 102410

I finished this MONTHS ago but didn't get it scanned until just recently. Back when my NaNoWriMo story was set to revolve around Navi P. and her crew (before it switched to Maker and Freyer), Michele was one of the main characters.

In Navi P. and the Arrow LeMars, Michele Lemars is an Ecure Master from the country of Ferant. Prior to her birth, her mother accidentally absorbed a significant amount of Ecure, a biomagnetically sensitive liquid metal. This metal collected in Michele's then-fetal form and resulted in her being born with high amounts of Ecure in her blood and a missing left arm. She later replaced her arm by extracting the Ecure from her blood and manipulating it around her existing prosthetic arm. Because of her unique biomagnetic properties, she can control the flow of any Ecure that comes within 100 feet of her. Ecure also naturally attracts more Ecure, so she has to be careful not to absorb too much or she risks turning into a metal statue.

Though The Stark Phantasmagoria is in many ways a steampunk story, Michele was the first character that I deliberately designed to be steampunk. She is an inventor in addition to being an Ecure Master and likes to experiment using solar power. The little handguns at her side trap and concentrate sunlight into lazer-like beams that she can use as tools and weapons, and the panels on her Ecure arm are used to power a mechanical implant that monitors the level of Ecure that enters her bloodstream.

She was also going to be my first steampunk cosplay until I figured out that her arm would be impossible to make at my current experience level. Plus, I recently discovered that I look stupid in half-vests.

By the way, The Arrow LeMars in the title is the name of Michele's spaceship. (Yes, it's steampunk in space.)
